PURPOSE:
Today’s student, even at the elementary level, relies heavily on technology at school and at home for their educational learning. We have learned that Still’s Elementary campus could use some help with acquiring the requisite amount of laptops to help support their learning environment. In fact, Still Elementary needs more laptops to help students complete their online standardized testing this school year.
So together, through the 501(c)(3) foundation established to supplement and support Still Elementary’s students, our local and corporate community can further help prepare them for their future educational journey and ultimately the workforce demands that await them. We can do this by helping outfit their classrooms with appropriate technology and exposure to more science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) instruction. While Cobb County and our school administration have taken necessary steps to create a STEAM lab and hire an instructor to focus on the curriculum, our school campus is in need of doubling its laptop supplies in the classrooms.
GOAL:
We are creating a technology campaign called TECH4STILL where we are aiming to raise $40,000 by 12/31/18 and $100,000 by 5/22/19 to purchase 50+ laptops and charging accessories to increase technology exposure and STEM learning. We have a student-focused effort planned for late October, early November where students will get into the action and reach out to their families, friends and our local community and we are hopeful to work with our parents, staff and corporate community to raise the remainder of the funds necessary to bring more technology and learning opportunities to Still.
This will only be accomplished with your assistance! Together, we can and will Soar to Success.
HOW TO HELP:
We are preparing for an annual fundraising initiative where we solicit and secure community sponsors that provide for a multiplied impact on the generous donations received from parents, staff and their networks. Commencing in Fall 2018, we will launch our very first “Tech 4 Still” Campaign. This can only be done with a strong, dedicated and determined team in place. Please see our “ways to help” below and please know the current Foundation Board (listed below) is available to answer any questions you may have or to help with any potential donors.
WAYS TO HELP
1. Volunteer for the “Tech 4 Still” Committee. You will have the opportunity to help us (a) communicate to all stakeholders, (b) fundraise and (c) coordinate a fun way for the students to participate.
2. Help by reaching out to your network and asking for donations to the Foundation
3. Recruit nearby and interested corporate or individual donors (think employer, friends/family & daily interactions with physician, dentist, optometrist, bank, florist, favorite restaurant or retail shop, child-focused business, etc.)
4. Help find corporate or individual donors that would like to donate in-kind raffle prizes for the students participating
2018-19 STILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOUNDATION BOARD MEMBERS (and grade levels represented by their Still Eagles):
