Still Elementary's Educational Foundation
The Still Elementary Educational Foundation was set up for the direct benefit for Still Elementary. It provides funding for projects and activities that are beyond the scope of traditionally supported school district projects. The foundation is funded through:
Community donations
Fundraising events
The foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity. All donations made to the Still Elementary School Foundation are tax deductible. The tax-exempt status from the IRS enables the Foundation to receive employee-matching funds and to apply for educational grant monies
The 2014-15 school year was the first year for the Still Foundation. Our focus for the funds then were to support The Leader in Me program based on Steven Covey's, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. "The Leader in Me is a whole-school transformation model that acts like the operating system of a computer—it improves the performance of all other programs. Based on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The Leader in Me equips students with the self-confidence and skills they need to thrive in the 21st-century economy."
Today, as we begin the 2018-19 school year, our focus for funds will be dedicated toward enhancing the school's technology in the classroom, specifically purchasing student laptops for STEM learning and online testing opportunities. We know there are budding engineers, scientists and tech-savvy entrepreneurs at Still and we want to enable and encourage them to explore this interest at school. With the right technology, instruction and frequent exposure to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) learning opportunities, our students will be able to enjoy this magical journey of hands-on learning.
